Censorship Today
Censorship today is mainly conducted by two groups:
- Mainstream Media
- Big-Tech

I’m deeply worried concerned regarding the future of America and also deeply afraid of loss of freedom of speech and of scientific discourse.
There are deep threats out there to doctors who are really doing their best—to help patients and save lives.
Mainstream Media
Most media corporations are owned by a handful of corporations. They often use parrot the same talking points, creating an echo chamber, where you hear the same message no matter where you go. This is necessary for cognitive dissonance, where a person discredits anything that deviates from what they hear most often.
Mainstream media, contrary to popular belief, has no responsibility to tell you the truth. The truth is always for the individual to determine. The media exists as a political mouthpiece. They shape reality by either conducting a media blackout on certain taboo topics (e.g. natural immunity, Ivermectin and other treatments) or they outright lie and deceive (e.g. “COVID-19 is a ‘pandemic of the unvaccinated'”). Note: this is not limited to the mainstream media. Government agencies should not be seen as more credible by default.
Not all media engage in these practices but the intelligent observer should be aware of this.
Big Tech
Big Tech takes the mainstream media to the next level. It includes organizations such as:
- Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Apple, Microsoft, PayPal, Twitter, Vimeo, Instagram, WhatsApp, Reddit, YouTube, Twitch, and numerous others.
Big Tech does the following:
- Algorithmic selective exposure of search results.
- Shadow banning
- De-platforming
- Giving warnings of content (e.g. COVID-19 warnings on YouTube videos)
- Election interference
Historical Censorship
Every power base uses censorship, whether we consider it benevolent or malicious.
Chinese “Great Firewall of China”
The Great Firewall of China refers to the set of legal and technological measures deployed by the People’s Republic of China to regulate its domestic internet usage.
The Great Firewall is an all encompassing term to explain the Chinese government’s proactive approach to regulating external influences over cyberspace. Deploying both technological tools and legislations, the Chinese government censors and blocks online foreign information sources and platforms such as Google, Facebook and Twitter. The policy prohibits content that might be detrimental to its national security or inappropriate for its population. Foreign websites that want to be shown in China, need to adhere to specific rules and regulations.
Anything that is inconvenient for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is censored. For example, it is nearly impossible to find anything in China about “tank man”.
After Chinese officials—alarmed at the June 1989 pro-democracy demonstrations in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square—ordered soldiers and police to shoot and kill student protesters, one solitary man stood out from the crowd.

National Socialist (Nazi) “Book Burning”

When the Nazis came to power in 1933, the German constitution guaranteed freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Through decrees and laws, the Nazis abolished these civil rights and destroyed German democracy. Starting in 1934, it was illegal to criticize the Nazi government. Even telling a joke about Hitler was considered treachery. People in Nazi Germany could not say or write whatever they wanted.
Examples of censorship under the Nazis included:
- Closing down or taking over anti-Nazi newspapers;
- Controlling what news appeared in newspapers, on the radio, and in newsreels;
- Banning and burning books that the Nazis categorized as un-German;
- Controlling what soldiers wrote home during World War II.
Censorship of the Bible
The Holy Bible has been censored time and time again. Excerpt from an article by David Cloud entitled, “The KJV and the Latin Vulgate”.

The Council of Trent (1545-1564) placed the Bible on its list of prohibited books, and forbade any person to read the Bible without a license from a Roman Catholic bishop or inquisitor. The Council added these words: “That if any one shall dare to read or keep in his possession that book, without such a license, he shall not receive absolution till he has given it up to his ordinary.”
Rome’s attempt to keep the Bible from men has continued to recent times. Pope Pius VII (1800-1823) denounced the Bible Society and expressed shock at the circulation of the Scriptures. Pius VII said, “It is evidence from experience, that the holy Scriptures, when circulated in the vulgar tongue, have, through the temerity of men, produced more harm than benefit.” Pope Leo XII called the Protestant Bible the “Gospel of the Devil” in an encyclical letter of 1824. Pope Gregory XVI (1831-1846) railed “against the publication, distribution, reading, and possession of books of the holy Scriptures translated into the vulgar tongue.” Pope Leo XII, in January 1850, condemned the Bible Societies and admitted the fact that the distribution of Scripture has “long been condemned by the holy chair.”
