PEG – Polyethylene Glycol
PEG is an additive used in the mRNA vaccine to protect the mRNA as it enters the human cell. PEG, also called macrogel, is a lipid compound that acts as a solvent, thickener, solvent, softner, and moisture carrier in many common products including medications, toothpaste, shampoo, skincare, and laxatives. PEG is an additive in both the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines. It is possible to get a severe allergic reaction when PEG is present.
