Severe complications to Covid-19 vaccines were 40 times higher than previously reported, according to a German study.
The study by Berlin Charité, a university hospital, interviewed 40,000 vaccine takers at various times in Germany after they had taken their Covid-19 shots as part of a long-term observational study.
“The number of serious complications after vaccinations against Sars-CoV-2 is 40 times higher than previously recorded by the Paul Ehrlich Institute [a Germany federal agency],” reported MDR.de, translated from German. “…Study director Prof. Harald Matthes is now calling for more contact points for those affected.”
Interestingly, the paper reported that “with conventional vaccines, such as against polio or measles, the number of serious side effects is significantly lower.”
“The number is not surprising,” explained Dr. Matthes. “It corresponds to what is known from other countries such as Sweden, Israel or Canada.”
“Incidentally, even the manufacturers of the vaccines had already determined similar values in their studies.”
The study considered severe side effects to be symptoms that lasted for weeks – or even months – which required medical treatment.
Some of the side effects reported include muscle and joint pain, heart inflammation and even some neurological issues.
“Most side effects, even severe ones, subside after three to six months, and 80 percent heal,” reports Professor Matthes. “But unfortunately there are also some that last significantly longer.”
