A teacher in Florida died Friday while hospitalized with COVID-19 after an unsuccessful suit that would require the hospital to treat her with ivermectin.
Tamara Drock, 47, was admitted to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center 12 weeks ago, according to her husband, Ryan Drock. Her husband filed a lawsuit against the hospital in October to force doctors to treat his wife with ivermectin, a treatment used for conditions induced by parasitic worms, he said.

A county circuit judge rejected the suit.
Permitting judges to reverse the decisions of medical professionals could establish a dangerous precedent, according to Palm Beach County Circuit Judge James Nutt.
Ivermectin is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat COVID-19, and it has yet to prove capable in pre-clinical trials.
The Drocks reportedly worked to make a deal with doctors and staff at the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.
They struck an initial deal, but it fell through when a doctor at the hospital treated Tamara Drock with a dosage allegedly deemed too low by the family attorney.
The husband was also infected with COVID-19 but recovered. However, he said he’s not giving up on his wife’s case.

“I’m hoping they name a law after her, so no one has to go through this,” Ryan Drock said. “If she had walked out of the hospital, she could have had the medication.”
The Washington Examiner reached out to Tenet Healthcare but did not immediately receive a response.
